Install Inkscape in Ubuntu 16.04

This is an article which is showing steps to install Inkscape in Ubuntu 16.04. Inkscape itself is an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) utility for image editing. First of all, to install a new package or utility of Inkscape, just do the following thing :

Convert mp4 to mp3 in Linux via Command Line

This is an article which is created to show how to convert mp4 file into an mp3 file in Linux operating system distribution which in this case, it is using Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus). By executing the right command in the bash prompt, the main purpose of converting mp4 file to mp3 can be achieved. Below is the sample of the execution process with the command’s pattern :

ffmpeg -i mp4_file_name -b:a 192K -vn mp3_file_name

Description :
ffmpeg : It is the command which is execute a ffmpeg video converter
-i : It is the additional parameter used to specify the input file which is selected as the main source for converting to the destination file 
mp4_file_name : It is the name of the source file
-b:a 192K : It is an additional parameter which is used to define bitrate of the audio encoding which is in this context 192kbps
-vn : It is an additional parameter which is used to strip the video stream from the file 
mp3_file_name : It is the name of the destination file

How to Install Internet Explorer 7 on Linux using PlayOnLinux

Set Default umask for User in Linux

In this article, there are descriptions given on how to set default umask for user exist in Linux operating system distribution. There are several ways on doing it depends on the situation or the requirement needed.

By the way, what is umask actually ?. It is one of the other generally known as a command exist in Linux operating system distribution . Well, based on Wikipedia, the definition of umask is “In computing, umask is a command that determines the settings of a mask that controls how file permissions are set for newly created files. It also may refer to a function that sets the mask, or it may refer to the mask itself, which is formally known as the file mode creation mask.” The definition of umask with detail and full description can be check in this link.

There are several ways on implementing umask based on the impact of the execution.

1. Temporary set umask just for temporary situation.
In case of certain need for a newly created file to have a different umask from the default umask assign to the file, just type the following command to change the default umask value to the new one. Using samba to access folders or files which has been shared depends on the samba file configuration that has already been configured. There are lots of parameters used in different values and purpose. Wrong configuration of samba service will affect the service itself so that it cannot serve its purpose to share files or folders correctly.
