How to Reset User Password in Microsoft Windows Operating System

Introduction

This is an article where the main content will show about how to reset or to change a password of a certain user in a device. Specifically, a device which is running using Microsoft Windows as its operating system. There are times where changing password or resetting the password is necessary. For an instance, at a time when the password is totally forgotten. It will be useful to be able to just logging in as an Administrator and then reset that forgotten password of the user. It is also important as an act to secure the device.

How to Reset User Password in Microsoft Windows Operating System

1. First of all, just access or type ‘computer management’ in the search tool exist in Microsoft Windows operating system. The following computer management window will appear :

2. Right after that, just choose the menu on the left sidebar of the Computer Management Window. Choose the ‘Local Users and Groups’. In other words, just click it so the menu will expand and then it will show another submenu inside of it. Below is the appearance of the available submenu exist inside of it :

   As it exist in the above image, in order to do that, select Users submenu. After that, select the available user from the user list in the center. In this context, just right click and then select Set Password…

3. Following after, it will present a window display for confirming information about setting the password. Since this process involving on the set password for ‘Administrator’ account, it is obvious it will display a warning message as it shows below :

4. Just click the Proceed button as it exist in the above image, it will then direct the process into the next step where the following window dialog box for setting the password will appear :

5. Last but not least, just test the changed password by logging out and then logging in or restart the device.
