Introduction

This article will show how to install MongoDB in Microsoft Windows 10. The actual version of the MongoDB for the installation in this article is the MongoDB Community Edition. Actually, the installation of MongoDB can have several methods. This article will focus on installing MongoDB on-premises by having it offline. So, the installation of the MongoDB Community Edition will be done offline.

In this article, the installation of MongoDB Community Edition will be available in Windows 10. As a reference, the guidance for the installation exist in this link. In the installation process, the step will be available in several parts. The first part is the preparation step. Following after that, it will be the part for pre-installation step. And then, there is the installation step process for the main process.

MongoDB Preparation Step for Installation

The first part, it is the first step will be the installation step. So, the step for preparing the installation of the MongoDB in Microsoft Windows 10 exist as follows :

1. First of all, download the installer of MongoDB. The installer exist in this link. Access the link. After that scroll it down, there is a link for downloading the offline installer at that page. It exist as on the following image :

2. Next, just click the Download button to start downloading the MongoDB Community Edition offline installer. Or else, just click the Copy Link button to get the download link and then start downloading with the help of other downloader tools. The following is the link available after clicking the Copy Link button : https://fastdl.mongodb.org/windows/mongodb-windows-x86_64-4.4.2-signed.msi

So, the above part is the preparation step. It is done after the MongoDB installer file is available through the download process above. Another one is the image displaying the link appearance after clicking the Copy Link button :

After downloading the file installer, just execute it. The file installer in this context has the name of ‘mongodb-windows-x86_64-4.4.2-signed.msi’. Normally, it will be available in the ‘Downloads’ folder of the Users logged in.

MongoDB Pre-Installation Process

Continue on the previous part, it will start the process of the overall installation. These steps are available as follows :

1. The installation step will start once after clicking the file installer. So, the following image will appear as the first step of the installation :

2. Next, after the above windows dialog box for the MongoDB installation appear, just click the checkbox with the label of ‘I accept the terms in the License Agreement. After the checkbox is active with a checklist, the Next button will be visible. Just click the Next button to proceed the MongoDB installation. The following image will display it in detail :

3. After that, the image of following windows dialog box will appear :

4. Following after, ss in the above image, just click the Complete button, the Next button will be visible. Just click the Next button to proceed on the MongoDB installation process. So, the image of the windows dialog box for proceeding the installation of MongoDB will appear :

5. The next step, as in the above image, just let it be with the default value. Just Click the Next button to proceed on the MongoDB installation process. The following windows dialog box image will appear :

6. The next step, just click the Next button to proceed on the MongoDB installation. The image of the windows dialog box for proceeding MongoDB installation process will appear :

If the above image appear, it means the pre-installation process is done and it will start for the real process of the installation. The previous step just defining the installation parameter. Just click the Install button to start the installation process.

 

MongoDB Installation Process

In this part, the step is only following the previous one. It begin after clicking the Install Button. The installation process will start automatically. The following image for the MongoDB installation process will appear :

Finally, after the execution of the Install button and the above image appear, the actual installation will start. Furthermore, if the installation process is a success, the following image will appear

After clicking the Finish button, there will be a following windows dialog box appear :

Just click the Yes button, the restart process will start. Better to restart it after the installation to check whether the installation of the MongoDB is a complete success or not.
