How to Install GDAL Library in Microsoft Windows

This article is showing on how to install GDAL library. The installation target is  a device which is running using Microsoft Windows. What is GDAL library actually ?. According to information exist in the GDAL library’s website, “GDAL is a translator library for raster and vector geospatial data formats that is released under an MIT style Open Source License by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. As a library, it presents a single raster abstract data model and single vector abstract data model to the calling application for all supported formats. It also comes with a variety of useful command line utilities for data translation and processing”. So, in a simple words, it is a library for raster vector geospatial data formats.

How to Install GDAL Library in Microsoft Windows

Generally, there are many ways available for installing the GDAL library. One of the convenient way is to install using a complete package installation consisting of several libraries in a whole. So, there are several libraries for further installation. Among other, there is also a library with the name of GDAL library. In other words, that complete package installation has GDAL library available as part of the installation process. Actually, that complete package installation which also include the GDAL library is available by installing a certain application. Moreover, that application’s name is QGIS application.
